Do you travel?

show

Yes I do! I can come to your home, your hairdressers salon (with their permission) or a hotel, wherever is best for you! On the day I will arrive a few minutes early with my makeup kit, makeup chair and makeup light if the room is going to be dark or I cannot set up near a window with natural light. If there is a table or coffee table available it would be useful however I can manage without.Once I’m complete ensure everything is ok before I leave.

What happens if I am running late?

show

As I work on my own keeping on schedule for my bookings is very important. If you think you are going to be running late please let me know as soon as you know so I am aware. Please be aware that I will not go overtime into my next clients booking therefore adjustments may need to be made to your booking.

Does makeup or hair go first?

show

I’ve done it both ways, and it has worked great either way. In my opinion it is best to have your hair done first if your hairdresser is going to be washing your hair, using excessive heated blow drying or a lot of hair spray and products that may get on your face. If you are going to have a fringe or a piece of hair that is going to be sprayed into place I would then suggest you have makeup applied first.

What brands of makeup do you use?

show

All of the makeup products I use are professional brands that were designed to give long lasting results that will look incredible in real life, photography and videography. I am continually testing and buying new products so my makeup kit does change quite regularly. Some of the brands I use are MAC Cosmetics, Hourglass Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Tarte Cosmetics, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Becca Cosmetics, Bodyography, Shanghai Suzy Lipsticks, Modelrock Lashes and Cosmetics.  Please contact me if you would like more information on my current brands carried.

How do you keep your products sanitary?

show

This is one of the most important areas of training as a professional makeup artist. A qualified and experienced makeup artist will sanitize their hands, have clean brushes, and a tidy and clean makeup kit. I always begin applying makeup using cleaned and disinfected brushes and products. I have been professionally trained to know how to keep everything clean and sanitary. I carry several sets of makeup brushes with me that are cleaned before each work day, and cleaned again with antibacterial brush cleaner between clients if I need to re-use a specific brush. I do not double dip lipsticks and other cream or gel products between clients, they are always taken out with spatulas and then mixed on a sanitized cosmetic palette. All powder products such as eye shadows and face powders and all eye and lip liners are wiped and disinfected with cosmetic sanitiser between usages as well.

Should I have a Makeup Trial?

show

To ensure your event day flows easily, and to ease any nerves you may have about not knowing what the makeup will look or feel like on the day, trials are a great way to see how beautiful you will look in advance. Trials can be booked weeks or months prior to your event day and can include experimentation with different looks. I offer my client’s the option of a 1 or 1.5 hour trial. Usually a 1 hour trial is enough time if you have already researched some makeup looks you like on people with similar colouring and features to your own. If you think you might want to try on a few different lip colours or step through the application process slowly then a 1.5 hour trial will allow enough time for this. At the end of the trial I make a record of all the products we have used and take a photo of the makeup for visual reference. I do book out quite quickly so please contact me as soon as you have a date in mind to avoid disappointment.

hide

Can I book a trial prior to booking in my event?

show

Of course! But, please understand that for my makeup services that require a deposit (high school/university graduation , a group booking or a mobile service) then the event booking will not be secured until you have paid a deposit. I do not hold dates pending trial runs.

hide

Where are Makeup Trials held?

show

Makeup Trials are held at my home studio. This is so I have access to all my products to create a customised look perfectly suited to you.

hide

How many people can I bring to my Makeup Trial?

show

I suggest only bringing one other person with you to your trial if you think you might want a second opinion. More than this can make decisions confusing with conflicting opinions. I also advise not to bring children as my home studio has a lot of low lying product displays and also any distractions might make it difficult for you to get the most out of your trial time. My home studio is a very relaxed and comfortable space ready for my client’s who might be a little bit anxious about having their makeup done or nervous not knowing what to expect. Bringing a family member, a trusted friend or just attending by yourself are all common occurrences. I also take photos at the end of the trial for visual reference and encourage you to take photos throughout the day and night so you can look back on the makeup and show others if you would like their opinion.
